Movie Fun

This morning I just randomly say to Drew (as he's getting ready for work) - I think I'll call your sister and see if she wants me to take her older 2 and I'll take all 4 girls to see that new cartoon movie.

Drew: Sure that sounds fun.... Are you OUT OF YOUR MIND?

The 4 girls are 5, almost 5, 3, and 7 months.

I might be crazy but it was great fun and it went really well!

Afterward the nieces came back home with us and they all played for awhile before my SIL came to retrieve them.

They're adorable! A couple of pictures I took today...

Spring

I've just had the most splendid day with my wonderful little girl. It's was mid 60s and just blissful. Something about spring makes you feel a little more alive, doesn't it?

Anyway, at about 10 we went to the store, did the work I needed to, went to another store to shop, then we went and got her cousin Elaina, we went to get some lunch, ate it at he park, played, went & shopped at a couple stores, washed the van, took the girls back to our house and they played, fed them dinner, went back to Elaina's and played some more. I cleaned while they played and visited with SIL while they played at her house. By that point it was 5:30 or so.

No big deal really but just a fun and pleasant day!

While we were washing the van each time the automatic thing would pass them to squirt water they would both scream at the top of their lungs. It was hysterical. I got these pictures with my phone...

After we got home I decided to make a cake...

Renee (oohh you're famous AGAIN!) told me to try Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate Fudge cake mix.

So I bought one when I was shopping this last time. Today I decided to make it. The only thing I did different than the instructions was to add a cup of sour cream (and do the high altitude instructions) - does that make you roll your eyes? That I can't help but add SOMETHING?? lol

I did it in 2 round cake pans. The center layer of frosting I used cream cheese frosting and on the outside I did the matching dark chocolate fudge frosting.

I'll just say - Renee is SMART.

THAT is some dang good cake.

Cocoa Explosion

P9160016

The offending cocoa (I'll tell you what is was for in another post).

I bought it today because I was out. I opened the seal ever so slightly so as not to spill it (I had two preschoolers hanging on me) and it EXPLODED IN MY FACE!!!

I'm not kidding.

From the top of my head to my waist was completely and totally caked in cocoa powder. I couldn't see through my glasses, I'd been talking while I was doing it to the little girls and it was all in my mouth too, of course. HUGE mess.

Exploding cocoa powder. Who knew.

So I yell for Drew, but that scared Leah so she started to cry. Elaina (her cousin) is just quiet - I can't tell you what they were doing and what they looked like because I was also blinded.

Drew comes around the corner and starts laughing hysterically. Who can blame him? That was about the last thing he expected to see when he walked in. He helped me clean myself up and calm Leah down. By the time I was done both little girls were laughing really hard. I had to go change my clothes.

Bewared the cocoa.

PS I already had one broken leg on my glasses & have been meaning to make an appt forever. In this process the other leg broke. I have on appt on Thursday at 2 now. Great, eh?

Also - don't ask for pictures. I didn't take any! ;)

Cousins

So this is Leah's cousin Elaina. Elaina is 8 months old than Leah. Apparently, cousins are the most fun thing EVER. And as they get older they have more & more fun together. This night they came over for dinner & some play time. Played with playdoh, the toys, ran all over the house, ate ice cream. It was great fun! (PS This is the same cousin she gets in trouble with. IE - the one I caught Leah playing in the toilet with!)

Playing with playdoh - and both randomly
announcing "I made it!!!" with great excitement!

SIL went to change the baby's diaper (Julia) and Elaina
said "me too!"so then Leah wanted hers changed too.
I stood on the couch to get a shot of them.

Then they had ice cream together...

Saying Cheeesseeee!

This one is really blurry but was just too funny not to share!
Of course, I think it's blurry because I was laughing so hard,
I was shaking!

Toddler Trouble.

Leah - just this MOMENT - figured out how to open and shut doors. She's never been tall enough & just hadn't gotten it yet.

So she plays this game where she goes in & out of the closet but she never actually shuts the door all the way (it's a walk-in closet). But just now she shut the door all the way & I though "uh oh". But after a few seconds she came out & said "HEY!" and went back in.

Now she's done it about 10 times.

Great. Just great.

I WILL NOT celebrate this milestone.

And yesterday she got in her first "I'm in trouble with a friend" trouble. Her cousin (8 months older) was here (and SIL & 2 month baby girl).

They were playing with toys in Leah's room & suddenly I realized their voices were coming from the wrong side of the hall....
I run upstairs & they are in the bathroom - so far so good -

NO!

Leah has on no pants & no diaper. Elaina has on no pants & is working on her diaper. Leah's bath toys are in the TOILET and they are both wet.

That's right. You heard me. They were playing with Leah's bath toys in the toilet and laughing HYSTERICALLY.

And though I scolded them (and washed their arms up to the shoulders lol).

I gotta tell the truth - it warmed my heart & soul to stand there while my daughter got in actual mischief with another child for the first time LOLOL

BUT

Two toddler minds are NOT better than one.

Alas - Mommyland is as wonderful as ever. I sure do love this kid!
