Sick.
This may be a very long night.
Or maybe she's out for the count now? One can hope.
I'm too tired already to think of anything clever to share. So here you have her from this morning in a picture. She's so freaking cute I can't even stand it.
I also can't bring myself to take her out of these footie jammies. Could she BE any cuter? I never even got her dressed today because I couldn't stand to take them off!
I'm crazy. Oh well.

Movie Fun
Drew: Sure that sounds fun.... Are you OUT OF YOUR MIND?
The 4 girls are 5, almost 5, 3, and 7 months.
I might be crazy but it was great fun and it went really well!
Afterward the nieces came back home with us and they all played for awhile before my SIL came to retrieve them.

Whine
I woke up sick this morning. I don't want to be sick nor do I have time to catch this. My understanding from the people around who have it, is that it lasts for about 2 weeks.
TWO WEEKS. Are you kidding me?
My children seem okay so far. My step-mother came and got Leah and took her dance class. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about preschool this afternoon. I don't know if Drew is going to make it in time.
This is a lame day!
And a lame post... maybe I'll come up with something more fascinating later. For now I will leave with with something adorable...

Dance Recital

Oh my gosh! It's finally time to go. She was so excited. "You can take a picture mom but then we need to hurry hurry hurry!"
On the way there... "Mom! I'm so excited! Take a picture of me!"
The Event: (the video is 3 minutes long - it's bad mostly. Hard to get good video from where we were.
Curtain Call:
Waving Bye! I wish I'd backed up and gotten a picture of the whole stage. It was FULL of kids. There were 27 separate acts for the recital. It was insanely long.
My favorite moments of the night:
During the performance right before Leah's, she suddenly appeared on the side of the stage. Someone let her get too far out. It made the people in the audience laugh. She's so freaking cute.
And about half way through her performance she got distracted by the action backstage and was watching off to the side for awhile. Too funny!
Oh and during the ending "curtain call" stuff they were handing out a few trophies to the older kids. The younger kids all gets medals but at some point the lady says "Did I miss any trophies?" and Leah (along with a few other kids) raised their hands.
Luckily Nana had brought Leah a rose. She'd wrapped in all in tissue paper and put a ton of ribbon on it. Nana said to her "her's your rose leah! This is way better than a trophy" and she was happy as could be! She has the rose in a vase in her room now. She was really excited about keeping that in her own room.
And here she is about 3 minutes after getting in bed. Wiped out.

The Sun
Those pieces of paper are glued to a paper plate that I cut the center out of. The "real" project called for cutting the construction paper into triangles. Cutting in triangles is not a specialty of 3 & 4 year old children so I did not insist on that! LOL And then we glued. They love glue.
Now she's the sun. Which I already knew but now I have visual proof. ;)

Spring
I've just had the most splendid day with my wonderful little girl. It's was mid 60s and just blissful. Something about spring makes you feel a little more alive, doesn't it?
Anyway, at about 10 we went to the store, did the work I needed to, went to another store to shop, then we went and got her cousin Elaina, we went to get some lunch, ate it at he park, played, went & shopped at a couple stores, washed the van, took the girls back to our house and they played, fed them dinner, went back to Elaina's and played some more. I cleaned while they played and visited with SIL while they played at her house. By that point it was 5:30 or so.
No big deal really but just a fun and pleasant day!
While we were washing the van each time the automatic thing would pass them to squirt water they would both scream at the top of their lungs. It was hysterical. I got these pictures with my phone...
After we got home I decided to make a cake...
Renee (oohh you're famous AGAIN!) told me to try Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate Fudge cake mix.
So I bought one when I was shopping this last time. Today I decided to make it. The only thing I did different than the instructions was to add a cup of sour cream (and do the high altitude instructions) - does that make you roll your eyes? That I can't help but add SOMETHING?? lol
I did it in 2 round cake pans. The center layer of frosting I used cream cheese frosting and on the outside I did the matching dark chocolate fudge frosting.
I'll just say - Renee is SMART.
THAT is some dang good cake.

Oh, the drama!
Today I warned Leah 3 times on the way home (an hour drive) "When we get home you have to clean your room." And she would cheerfully respond, "Okay, mommy!"
Me in the driveway: "What do you have to do now?"
Leah: Clean my room!
But then she said she was hungry - which was legitimate so she ate a yogurt. She came upstairs to find me with two toys in hand...
L: I'm going to play with these now.
Me: You have to clean your room.
L: NO!
Me: I will count to 10 and then I will take those two toys away.
1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... 7... 8... 9... 10...
No reaction from Leah.
I stand up without a word and take the two toys.
Then I grabbed my camera because I KNEW what was coming. :)
Zero to...
... sixty.
About 8 seconds.
PS She's cleaning her room now. This could be a long evening.
