Camille needs...
1. Go to Google.
2. Type in your name and then the word 'needs'. i.e.: "Camille needs"
3. See what you find.
Here are some of my results:
1. Camille needs a duck to keep her company. No kidding? Weird.
2. Camille star needs dental emergency treatment. I do need my wisdom teeth out but I don't know if I'd say it was an emergency. lol
3. Camille needs men. Okay. That's probably true. Although really it's just one man in particular!
4.Camille needs to learn to be gentler and less of a perfectionist. Fer rude!!
5. Camille dropped her phone in the toilet and lost all her numbers. Oh man. That's just funny! I did drop my phone in the toilet once. I was helping Leah get on. It didn't work for a day but when it dried out it was fine & I didn't lose anything! The funniest part was I was talking to Drew and I could still hear him talking in the water & he could hear all these gurgling sounds. Hysterical!
6. Camille is the kind of person we need in Congress…Camille is dedicated to the ideals of the Democratic Party, has fought for, and will continue to fight... (I didn't actually click the link to see what that was all about. I just thought it was funny!)
That was fun!

I normally ignore these but I checked on snopes & the recall is real.
http://www.snopes.com/food/warnings/coins.asp
Of course, it's in CANADA. Does the email bother to mention that? No.
But still - here's main info:

Twilight Spoof
Of course, if you haven't read Twilight - it will not be funny.

Depression & beginning the Winter
**Preface - true depression is very real - if you need to see a doctor, get some meds - whatever keeps you healthy!
I feel like a broken record offering this advice but it's still good advice.
Get some B-Complex. Take it!
B-Complex can do miracles for lifting mood. I've heard my sister call it "Happy Vitamins" (I think that was it).
It's such a simple thing. It's worth trying right?
So this fall/winter, if you feel yourself just generally feeling despondent and weepy. Do yourself a favor, give the B-Complex a try.
The dosage depends on the brand you buy & you. My husband needs more of it than I do for it to be effective.
But - REALLY - it works.
It's also very good for those PMS days ;) - mood LIFTER!
That's my 2 cents.
PS If you hate to swallow pills everyday you can also use Celestial Seasonings Tension Tamer Tea - it's got lots of B Vitamins it. Good Stuff!

Yummy Dip & Cakes - Updated
4 oz cream cheese
1/2 jar roasted red peppers (15 oz jar)
4 oz sour cream
a good size handful of fresh spinach leaves
Blend until smooth.
I'm dipping harvest wheat crackers in it. So scrumptious!
:)

Cakes
On Tracey's blog she did a post about Cake Wrecks. You can read about it there. She said "Show me yours" So here's my whole two cakes. I have to make another in 3 weeks!
Leah's 1st birthday I felt very successful.
Then on Leah's second birthday. I was going to make this cake (just the top half):

Seriously. I made EIGHT boxes of cake & they all fell. First I made 2 - they fell. 2 more - they fell. I couldn't believe it. I've never had a cake fall before. EVER. I've not had once fall since then either.
So we ended up with this cake:
Which I never bothered to take a picture from the front of. Sheesh. Those are penguin suckers. I was going to use them on the earlier cake instead of hand making those little penguins.
I actually went to the store to see if I could buy some unfrosted cakes & still assembled what I wanted. They would not give me unfrosted cakes. And for some reason it was cheaper to buy the already done cake then to buy an UNdecorated one. It was a frustrating part of the day. But the party was still fun!
Edited to add -
I just had this conversation with Leah about her birthday & then I said "Do you know what kind of cake you want?" I was expecting some little kid answer - like "a big cake!" or "a backyardigan cake" or something.
But no.
She says "I want strawberry shortcake."
WHAT?
So I show her pictures.

She chose that. Well, actually she saw a three tiered strawberry shortcake wedding cake. I. think. not. ;) This one:

Strawberry shortcake I can do! But a wedding cake for a 3rd bday? No. :)
Balloon Things
Then we come home - "Make these mommy!" as she looks at the instruction pictures.
Google to the rescue again.
I watched several videos. I found this handy website - Balloon Animals
I have made a heart (not as easy as I thought it would be), a sword (REALLY easy), a crown, a bear's head (okay - it was supposed to be a whole bear but the body popped), a flower, a cat, a couple butterflies, and several attempts at things that just popped.
"structions" - I was using the pump & Leah comes in the room with a tip.
"Mommy, you're supposed to use this. It says in the 'structions'." as she points at the picture instructions that came with it.
She was quite right. Albeit lecturing me about using instructions after that. My 2 year old lecturing me. Awesome.
P.S. I'm tired of making balloon animals.

Preschool & Halloween Craft
We had fun at preschool today. The girls really are so much fun! And they love it. After every activity I hear "What should we do next?" from both of them. They're so annoyed when our two hours are over.
A couple of pictures from today.
We use this to practice just holding the pencil, etc.
This is them doing an A. We are still working on ABC from last month & have added DEF this month. A little at a time. We also did counting with candy corn today. Yummy.
And we made this "Halloween Wreath". It's a paper plate with the center cut out. Then we painted them black & glued the shapes on. I had cut out the pictures before hand.

Meatballs
italian meatballs recipe award
I wanted something that had won a contest or something. I read several recipes and then I made up my own new recipe. I don't know why I can't follow a recipe but I think maybe I'm incapable of not "tweaking" it! LOL
1 lb ground meat (don't use too low fat or your meatballs will be dry)
3 cloves garlic
2 eggs
1/2 tsp dried basil + about 10 fresh leaves chopped up
1/4 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp crushed bay leaves
1/4 teaspon freshly ground peppercorn (I used a 4 colored mixture)
1 tsp salt
an overflowing 1/4 cup fresh bread crumbs (I just ground a some potato bread in my magic bullet)
Mix it all up, form the meatballs (whatever size floats your boat), and then pan fry in a little olive oil.
I dumped 'em in a colander to drain and then added to sauce.
Yeah for spaghetti & meatballs!
Of course after I made the meatballs I wanted to just forget the sauce & sit down and eat myself into oblivion with those meatballs! They were so soft & so perfect.
Happy Sigh. I wish I'd made a bigger batch! Next time I'll at least double everything.
I don't want to sing!
It kinda makes me want to scream. So all the times I've tried this is for sure the best result. And you even get to hear her say she doesn't want to sing anymore! lol

My Poor Baby
Because Leah is now sick. Yesterday evening she had a fever of 101 (as I mentioned) but this morning she woke up and it was 103.4. UGH. I medicated her and an hour later it had come down to about 99. She's quiet and miserable today.
And 6:30 she started asking if it was bedtime. At 7 she asked if she could just go to bed. By 7:40 she was sounds asleep.
Until a little before 10 when I hear her crying from the bathtub I was soaking in. And then I hear her retching. Heaven love my child. She gathered up her blankie - had it all bundled in her lap - and puked right in it. The puke was just foamy spit & mucus (sorry about the TMI). I didn't have to do anything but throw the blanket in the wash. Coolest kid, ever?
So now she's in my bed. She puked a little more in the toilet. Then she drank water & said she was hungry. She ate a little bit of mashed potatoes. She's laying here with me watching Project Runway now.
A little frivolity for me after watching tonight's debates and debate commentary :)
Besides I really love this show & it's the finale!
Even though I should be sleeping. I couldn't sleep last night. I fell asleep about 1:30 and between then at 7 am Leah woke me up 5 times to tell me her throat her.
I'd so much rather be sick than watch my kid be sick!!

Cool Mommy
Uhhhh. What?
Then I remember once at her dance class the teacher took Leah's dollar bill and made it into a bow tie.
So she sees it once and I'm supposed to know how to do it??
Well, being the coolest mommy ever, I have to find a way!
So I google it and a you tube video pops up!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsYjFP2ziDE (it says the the embed feature is disable. weird but it was the best one)
I make the bow tie & call Leah back in the room.
"Thanks. I want to wear it now."
Um.
I got a paper clip and clipped the bow tie on the front of her shirt.
"Thanks, mommy!" and off she went on her merry way!
*****
Today for preschool we made the Halloween Gingerbread House & I played "Go Fish" for a good 30 minutes with her today.
I'm just sayin', It was a successful mommy day.
Of course, now Leah has my sickness I think. 101 Fever. The next few days may not be so great!
Huh?
Drew: What are you reading your scriptures for? You already know what happens.
And then he laughed really, REALLY hard.

Work
Where do you work? I thought you stayed home with Leah?
I do mostly stay home with Leah. I work as a vendor/merchandiser at the grocery store. I only took the job because I can take Leah with me. I actually wasn't looking nor did I *need* a job but most of the time it's fun and since I don't have to leave her I keep doing it.
When we do another adoption & have another baby, I will quit I'm sure. Leah's at the perfect age for this to work out but it's just a temporary thing.
And really most of the time I think it's fun. It's NOT fun this week because I'm sick and it's a pain and it's a reminder that it's become a responsibility. LOL
Really, I'm just whiny still.
Hack, Hack. Sniffle. Cough, Cough.
;)
People are gross.
This woman is walking down the aisle chatting on her cell phone. Toddler child in the cart. He's playing with some type of shelled nut. He asked her something in Spanish (I'm assuming to open the nut). She looks around, sees only me - and what? I work there so I don't matter?? - drops the nut on the floor, stomps on it with her tennis shoe, and then picks it back up and hands it to her child.
He eats it.
Ew.
Grocery stores are DIRTY. The floor is filthy. The bottom of your shoes? FILTHY. Combine the two and then feed it to your child? SICK.

Sick. Again. Still.
Good. Times.
At least Drew is here now. I shouldn't be blogging. I'm entirely too whiny!

Two Dogs?
Um. I only have one dog. And yet I went to my back door and discovered this pair.
It's my neighbor's dog on the right. The dog that barks nearly constantly and acts like she's going to rip my head off when I'm standing next to my own fence.
But in my backyard? Totally friend. Petted her, gave her treats. I'm not totally sure how she got in. And my neighbor isn't home.
Aye aye aye!

Punishments
So today she is not allowed to watch cartoons. She is coloring/drawing while eating strawberries right now.
This is going to be a LONG day. It's insane that doling out such a punishment is as much a punishment for the mom! You never realize that when you're a kid, eh?
She keeps saying to herself, "I can't watch cartoons. I ran away from Daddy." So at least she gets the point.
Ah well! I wish I could nap. I'm so sleepy today!
PS She started in her room last night and then woke up and started bawling and yelling for me. Drew had turn out the light that serves as her night light currently and she woke up in pitch black dark. I wanted to beat him up. So she came to be with us after that. Drew snored an insane amount and Leah was all over the place.
It's amazing how quickly I could get used to her sleeping her room! LOL
Drew's gone tonight & if she sleeps in there... perhaps I could get a solid night's sleep. That would be lovely.

More Sleeping
So last night she said she wanted to sleep in her room and then a little while later changed her mind but I was on the phone so I got a minute before I had to answer her.
As much as we all know I wanted her to sleep with me (and oh I did!), I decided I wanted to giver her some kind of incentive to choose her room. So I told her if she sleep in her room we'd still do books & songs (part of her nightly routine) but if she slept in my room - which she was more than welcome to do - we were only doing prayers and then going to sleep. She thinks for a minute and then chooses her room.
So we read the books, say her prayer, turn out the lights, sing her songs and right as I finish the last song she sits up and says "Let's go to your bed now!"
Um.
I think not.
HELLO? Did she just try to work me over?? Sheesh!
It was really hard for me to say no to that. I just told her she'd already made her choice & since we did books/songs she needed to go to sleep in her bed. I suddenly wished I hadn't started this path! But she didn't fight me. She went to sleep fairly quickly.
She did come into my bed in the middle of the night. I have no idea what time. I went to bed a little after midnight and I was sound asleep when she woke up. I barely woke up and she said "I want to stay here." and I let her curl in my arm and then I told her to go back to sleep. I woke up this morning with her against my back and it made me grin! :)

Happy Morning!
She woke at 6:45, crawled in bed with me, and asked for cartoons after a few minutes of snuggling.
She's such a big girl!!
PS I'm okay too. ;)

Oh help me!
Conversation between Drew & Leah (as related by Drew):
L: Monsters aren't real, are they?
D: No, there's no such thing as monsters.
L: No such thing as monsters.
.... quiet
L: Am I safe in my room?
D: Whenever Mommy or Daddy are home you are safe!
(then repeat the same question in various forms a few times)
D: Are you gonna sleep in your room?
L: Yes, I'm gonna sleep in my own room by mySELF. (she always emphasizes self like that lol)
And guess what? She's in her bed. I don't know what to do with myself. I want to lay down and weep. I'm holding it together until I know she's asleep. I forgot to have her pee before bed and she came out once to say she has to go potty. I think she has a sippy cup under the covers. That always keeps her awake longer but she takes a drink every time she starts to fall asleep. If those goes on too long I'll go take it away.
Anyway.
In all my cosleeping research I've always hoped to let her make this decision herself, why is it so painful that she's doing it? Does she HAVE to act so grownup about it? Is it wrong that I'm hoping she'll change her mind tomorrow and go back & forth for awhile???
Funny Video
General Conference
If you don't know what General Conference is you can click here to see. ;)
It's not that I 'forget' but it's such a sweet reminder how good and kind and what wonderful disciples of Our Savior the leaders of my church are.
No matter the church - mine or yours or some other - a certain respect has to be offered to people who are willing to dedicate their lives to the service of God, yes?
Amazing!
The Husband
I don't know that I have much faith that he'll keep it up but his first entry sure made me laugh hard ;)

Bra Danger
When you live in a tiny town with very little shopping and it's 100 miles to everywhere in every direction... Bra shopping is a pain.
Because of this little by little my bras have gone in the garbage. All but a single bra. Sigh.
So the danger is two fold.
1. You wake up and remember your bra is in the load that you put in the washer before bed and you need to hurry and get ready - but your bra is wet.
2. You pull that one bra out of the washer to discover it bit the dust during that load. The wires were sticking our all over the place and it wasn't repairable.
Well, shoot me. I had to get dressed without a bra, put on a swear shirt to be semi-less noticeable and drive to a stupid store here in town and find a bra. Ridiculous.
I tired on about 20 bras. Bought the best of the them - and I still hate it. But it is, what it is.
And then I put it on in the van. LOL
Now I need to drive 120 miles to my nearest mall or department stores because clearly I need bras. And bra shopping is NOT my favorite thing in the world.
What a way to start the day, eh?
Good times.

Milk Maid Royals
I buy these because I love the butter rum ones. I don't care much about the others. They're caramel. I love caramel but oh the butter rum. :)
They're the gold ones.
They is a nice picture. Now I want some.
I haven't had any in FOREVER and I saw them at Alco the other day. So I excitedly buy a bag and when I get home I dump them out to pick out the beautiful gold butter rum ones...
And there were four. FOUR. In the whole stupid bag. I'm so irritated!!! Plenty of the chocolate - which I don't like at all.
That's all.
